Cool antique silver-plated claw tongs is a stunning piece of Victorian style flatware. The Meriden Britannia Co. B/1847 Rogers Bros composition adds to its charm. This item is ideal for collectors of silverware from the late 19th century. The tongs measure 7 inches and are a great addition to any antique silver collection.

There is a blank oblong stamp along the top bend that’s ready for engraving, to make it an extra special family heirloom.

Antique Meriden Britannia Co. B/1847 Rogers Bros A1 Claw Tongs Silver Plated 7” long 2.1/8” opening

In 1862 Meriden Britannia Company bought the hollowware division, tools and dies of Rogers Brothers Mfg Co (incorporating Rogers, Smith & Co).

The production of the '1847 Rogers Bros' line continued under the direction of William Rogers and in 1865 the plating view was transferred from recent Haven to Meriden and merged with Meriden Britannia Co in 1866.
