There is several yellowing due to age, but there are no folds or wrinkles on the pages, and I think you can read them comfortably. There is one stain on the bottom of the first volume (see image 3).
At the beginning of each volume, there are illustrations of military commanders by Takeshi Nagano. On the back of the illustrations, there is a map of the setting of the story.
