More information about 2nd century BCE to 5th century CE/AD broken bronze belt decoration.

I can't say with any certainty what culture this came from but I can say that the fabrication skills used to make this piece are of impeccable quality. I cleaned it just enough to reveal an image underneath and left it as is. When I first got it it had a patina and wherever it was buried caused it to fuse with other minerals and materials. This made it look like it had ugly pimples all over it, and I thought that I would never get it clean without completely destroying it. See that's another marvelous thing that happens when we sometimes take our time and clean these ancient pieces we rewarded with such beauty did it makes everything worth it. I understand that historians and archaeologists always say when you remove the patina you remove the value. But what's value for me is a different value for something else because it's all about it's journey and it's story and where it's been and how it got into my hands. I hope you like this pendant as much as I enjoyed making it.
